Entirely confused about this situation, Taurean was willing to let the fox's closer friends comfort the crying child. He was standing neat enough to the commotion to hear Inu Yasha's statement, and quietly questioned him. "Who's supposed to be dead? And, if I may ask, why the chuckle? Was his death a good thing?" Taurean's hands were up his sleeves, and his right hand nervously fiddled with his jeweled bracelets, checking the power held in some of them. "Damn right his death was a good thing!" Inu Yasha turned to Taurean. "That man killed Shippo's father. And he put threw more than a few temper tantrums that we had to clean up after." "He's the most evil of people - human, demon or otherwise..." Sango stated with disgust. Miroku, who had been silent until now, responded, "Well, we shouldn't really jump to conclusions. It isn't at all impossible that someone else could have those very same - or similar - items that the older Thunder Brother had upon his feet." He laid a hand on Shippo's shoulder. "Perhaps it is someone else entirely who left these marks."

"This 'Thunder Brother' fellow is dead, correct? The holy man's suggestion must be correct, then. There is almost nothing in this world that can be considered truely unique and irreplicable. Whatever device the 'Thunder Brother' used must be in use by this other person. The important thing, however, is that whoever used this divice most likely kidnaped the girl who was here. I doubt she would have run off on her own; she seemed rather scared. Are any of you skilled in the art of tracking?"

Inu Yasha scoffed at the question as if it was the silliest thing he had ever heard. "Am I good at tracking?" He laughed. "You seriously have never heard of me, huh?"
"Don't be so rude, Inu Yasha!" Kagome scolded, "He's a stranger to this time and place even more than I am and even I hadn't heard of you!"
"Well, that's probably 'cuz you just don't pay attention in your history class-"
"INU YASHA - SIT BOY!" Kagome interrupted, sending him down hard on his head.

Taurean looked at Inu Yasha in slight alarm, then raised his gaze to Kagome. "Perhaps he would better be able to track this fellow if he were not so deeply embedded in the turf?" His expression was one of mild humor, the type of look that suggested that the recever should be embarrased for the actions which warranted this look, but it was not a look which could normally be taken offense to; Taurean had had much practice with this look in the forums and public meetings of his home country, and he hoped it would translate to this new culture.

Kagome blushed a little and looked away, "Oh... r-right." Miroku chuckled and a few minutes Inu Yasha stood up and sniffed around. Eventually, he took to the trees heading off in the general direction of a faint scent he picked up.
Sango started after him by foot on the clear path and the rest of the party tried to keep up.

Taurean followed the others, his hands tucked into the opposite sleeves of his kimono. He had a lot to think about. This Inu-Yasha seemed to be tracking by scent, his ears were odd, and the young woman had some strange power over him. He knew that Miroku was a monk by his clothes, but he had no clue as to the abilities of the lady Sango. The fox demon seemed young yet, and he was sure that Sango's cat was no ordinary kitten. He puzzled over these things, but kept his questions to himself as he followed the group.

Emelie didn't even have time to tell him that she didn't know the first thing about cooking a boar when she whisked her away in his arms again. As she clung to him for dear life once again she asked him what was going on. "Who is fox demon you want to kill so badly? Is he someone strong and powerful?" She didn't like this one bit, t sounded very dangerous and she really didn't want any part of it but she knew she had no choice. The crazed look in Hitten's eyes wasn't something she wanted to mess with. "No!" Hitten replied, "He's a weak little brat who happens to have a lot of friends." There was several moments of silence before he continued, ".... they killed my brother." Eventually he steered back to the trail they had been on previously; where Emelie had came out of the well. Shortly after setting on that course, Hitten's eyes narrowed as they set upon Shippo and his group just down the road below them.

Emelie felt a little bit relived to know that Hitten's opponet wasn't strong but she was woriied about these friends. Maybe they are really dangerous, like a Yankee street gang. To kill someone they must be. " I am really sorry to hear they killed your brother. Can you tell more me of what his friends are like. Are they dangerous?"

Hitten snorted in response but didn't answer her question. Instead he hoisted her up with one arm and pointed his spear's tip downward. A steady crackle began, growing louder each moment as a lightning ball formed at the tip. He let forth a bestial growl as he sent the lightning ball flying at the group on the ground. And then began a slow descent.

Inu Yasha was the first to see it coming and he jumped forward, countering the blast with a swift attack of the Tetsusaiga. Miroku did his best to try to get the rest of the party back.

Taurean moved past Miroku, towards where he saw the man descending. "He is holding the girl from before! It's my fault he took her, and I shall help return her to safety!" He slid up his right sleeve, revealing the several bracelets going up his arm, a unique crystal in each one. He tied off his sleeve above his elbow and stood next to Inu-Yasha, waiting for Hitten to come down to their level

Hitten held his second attack to allow himself time to scrutinize the strange man rushing toward him. Soon, he smirked, "Soo.... It seems you have some jewel shards." he said to Taurean, thinking he recognized the items on his wrist. "Toss those here and I might let you escape the punishment I'm about to give your friends." He snickered and tossed Emelie onto the ground. It wasn't a very far drop at this point, but she did tumble, and the place where she landed was far from Inu Yasha and his friends.

Taurean smiled up at the floating figure. "If you insist, sir!" He reached up to the highest band on his arm and tore the crystal out of it. It was a small, black, rectangular prism, and to the eye, it crackled with power. It was, in fact, constantly sucking in power from the air around it. When it had absorbed all the power it could, it would change color and begin releasing that power, similar to the way his other crystals did. On his arm, the crystal had been prevented from touching his arm by a metal band; the Thunder Brother would have no such protection, especially if he embedded it like a shikon shard. The drain would be slow, at first, but would increase with every second; at its full draw, after 5 minutes of contact, it would incapacitate a normal man. Taurean threw the crystal up to the man, still grinning.

(Are any of the other crystals that TC has visable at this point?)
Hitten caught the thrown crystal with a wicked grin and decided to move his attentions past the foreigner - for now. "How wonderful, you've decided to all come before me. It saves me the trouble of having to track each of you down after I kill the first."
He laughed and shot another bolt of energy, this one clearly directed right at Shippo...

(4 of his remaing 9 crystals can be seen at this point.)
Taurean was too far in the front of the group to put himself between the bolt directed at Shippo, but he tried to, anyway. It was clear from his action that he was trying to intercept the bolt, and he was immediately sorry he had done it; this would give away his intent, and Hitten might get suspicious.
