"Not quite yet, Omoki." Kasumi said and she sat on the sand with her feet in the water.

Omoki gave a shrug, which may or may not have been visible in the water, and continued to drift. He eventually paddled clse enough to shore that he wouldn't get washed out to sea, then drifted off to sleep with the gentle motions of the waves.

A wind picked up in the area, chilling Kasumi for a moment. She sat on the edge of the water and brought her knees to her chest.
All she could think about now was that it had been a long time since she had been home. She retraced the steps once more; where did she go when she left Nippon? As usual, she ran into some sort of mental block that she just couldn't get around. She remembered the trip there, the trip back, and some generic traveling and sight-seeing. But.... something was missing.
She placed her head on her hands, the frustration was obvious on her face for quite some time. Several minutes later she noticed that Omoki had fallen asleep and so figured that now might be a good time to enter the water. She walked out as far as she could before she could no longer touch foot to the bottom without bouncing on the waves and then began to swim quietly.

Omoki woke, opening his eyes slowly and looking around, without changing his position on top of the waves. He noticed Kasumi swimming, and closed one of his eyes, feigning continued sleep. 'If she don't wanna play around, I ain't gonna force her to. She's kinda stiff, I tink. Wonder why?' Omoki thought to himself as he drifted and secretly watched her.

Kasumi was still thinking he was asleep when she decided to go back to the beach. Her juban was soaked, of course, so she moved behind some bushes to remove it and rummaged through the lone sack that she carried in order to find another.
She placed the pink juban over the bush to dry and placed this new pastel green one on. The afternoon was overcast and a general feeling of laziness came over her so she lied down on the sand and began to try to make sense of the shapes of the clouds in the sky.

Justina had been watching them for a while. "Man." She thought, "How boring. I thought I'd at least get to see some action since that weird monkey guy was half-naked..."
Just to stir things up, she decided to walk in the midst of them and ask (rather loudly) "Hey! Does anyone happen to know where I can getta decent drink around here?"

There was a sudden flurry of splashes as Omoki swam hastily (and clumsily) back in, running when his feet touched the bottom. He ran up the beach, skidded to a stop next to his things, and held up his jug. "Did somebody say 'drink?'" He was grinning widely, and standing on one foot as his other dug around in his pack, pulling out three small cups that he held between his toes, and soon transfered to his free hand. He then fully saw, for the first time, the newcomer, and stared slightly, with his eyebrow raised.

(taurean - I assume you meant 'splashes'?)
This new girl was strange to say the least, and there was something about her that Kasumi wasn't sure if she could trust. She got to her feet and tightened the fold of her kimono. Omoki was fetching drinks, she noticed, so perhaps she shouldn't be so quick to judge this odd woman.
Her Geisha training taught her about being a good hostess but in the commotion of the woman's arrival she had forgotten all about manners. She blushed in embarrassment, silently scolding herself. "Thank you, Omoki." She said as she moved over to assist him in serving the drinks.

"That's more like it." Justina thought. She walked over to the two kneeled next to them and accepted the drink that they offered. "Aaah... " she said, allowing the anime-style cloud to escape from her mouth after downing the drink. "Thank you. Now... why are you two here?"

"Well..." Kasumi started, not really sure what to say. "We met in a nearby town and decided to travel together. The beach and water was a welcome distraction." She smiled. "How about yourself, miss?"

"Boredom." Justina said, shrugging. She put her arms up above her head and stretched, "Yup, sheeer boredom." Her voice was somewhat strained by her stretching.

Omoki stared at the newcomer somewhat, and applied himself thoughly to his drink, offering his new companion a refill when she emptied her cup. He had a full jug, and this was as good a time as any to get plastered with a new friend!
